Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused HVAC Parts Counter Sales team member to support daily parts store operations.

This is an active customer service and sales role. You will work closely with the Parts Store Manager to assist contractors, technicians, and service teams with accurate parts identification, ordering, quoting, warranty processing, and product alternatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers at the counter, by phone, and through will call
  • Process parts orders accurately and efficiently
  • Perform parts lookup across multiple equipment and product lines
  • Prepare job quotes and maintain an active open quote log for follow-up
  • Process warranty claims
  • Identify substitute products when requested items are unavailable
  • Follow established pricing structures to help maintain desired margins
  • Conduct outgoing sales and customer follow-up calls
  • Stock merchandise and maintain an organized sales and parts area
  • Learn product lines, inventory, vendors, and new product offerings
  • Work closely with the Parts Store Manager and team to support daily operations
  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and strong work ethic

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple customer requests and priorities
  • Positive, dependable, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to quickly learn product lines, vendors, parts, and substitutions
  • HVAC parts, distribution, warehouse, or contractor supply experience preferred
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

Training

Training will be provided across multiple product lines. The successful candidate must be willing and able to quickly learn products, vendors, inventory, and appropriate alternatives to confidently assist customers.

PAY & INCENTIVES

  • Full-time with 40 hours guaranteed each week
  • Bi-weekly pay and overtime as needed
  • Performance-based incentive plan
  • Competitive pay based on experience

PAID VACATION

  • 10 days of paid vacation each year, in addition to earned PTO
  • Vacation may be carried forward in accordance with company policy

EARNED PTO

  • Earn 4 hours of PTO per month following the applicable 90-day waiting period
  • PTO may be used for illness, personal time, appointments, and personal or family emergencies
  • Earned PTO may be carried over in accordance with company policy

MEDICAL, DENTAL & VISION

  • Coverage is available beginning the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.
  • Mechanical Concepts pays 50% of the medical insurance premium for employee or family coverage
    Dental and vision insurance available

RETIREMENT & PROFIT SHARING

  • 401(k) eligibility after 6 months of employment
  • Company matches 100% of the first 3% contributed, plus 50% of the next 2%
  • Optional company profit-sharing contribution; historically funded each year since the plan was established
