The Walter B Jacobs Memorial Nature Park is located just west of Blanchard and encompasses 160 acres of pine-oak-hickory forest with 5 miles of nature trails. The approximately 13,000 square feet of new facilities include a main building with exhibit and education areas, a multifunction event building with catering kitchen and outdoor space, a bird-of-prey aviary building, and Maintenance shop building.  Additionally, the existing pavilion has been remodeled and updated. 

HVAC needs are met in the main building using mezzanine-mounted chilled water air handlers and electric heat VAV air terminal units in the spaces.  The event center also uses chilled water air handlers and electric heat VAV units.  The birds of prey common area and the remodeled pavilion, as well as several dedicated areas in the main and event buildings, are served by minisplit and multisplit systems. The chiller and hydronic systems are housed in the Maintenance shop building.
